The National Archives of Ireland has in recent years digitised the 1901 and 1911 census which serve as an important piece of national heritage. In addition to the 1901/1911 census, there also is surviving census fragments of the 1821 and 1851 censuses but these were mostly lost during the Irish civil war. The National Archives of Ireland
